ABOUT THE CARNIVAL:
The Flyers Wives Carnival is one of the oldest and most successful one-day charity events hosted by a professional sports franchise, raising more than $23 million forPhiladelphia-area charities.

The Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival is a genuine family affair that involves the participation of the Flyers’ players, management, staff, alumni and their families. The firstCarnival was held February 1, 1977. Later that year, one of the Flyers’ own, Barry Ashbee, died of leukemia. With his death came a truly heartfelt focus to the Flyers Wives Carnival. The monies raise through the Flyers Wives Carnival fund a number of charities, including the original charity of decades ago, the Barry Ashbee Research Laboratories at Hahnemann University Hospital.

The Flyers Wives Carnival offers families a fun-filled afternoon at a very reasonable price, all for a good cause. Fans have the opportunity to meet Flyers players on a very personal level. Every year, the Flyers Wives add a little something different such as challenge the players to interactive games, including Wii Boxing, Beatles Rock Band, take a shot on a Flyers goalie or try to dunk a player in a dunk tank. Other attractions for families with young children, including a Kids Zone, caricaturists, face painters, balloon artists, and magicians. Fans are also able to take a picture with the Stanley Cup and meet and receive autographs from Flyers Alumni.

The Flyers Wives Carnival continues to provide a unique experience for fans, all in an effort to give back to the community that has supported them!
